We're currently looking for Project Managers, Project Engineers/Assistant Project Managers and Superintendents.
Project Manager
These candidates should have the capacity and experience to find, esimate, negotiate and manage construction of projects self-sufficiently.
Project Engineers
This position provides support for our current PM's so they can expand their volume while the newer personnel gain the experience needed to function independently as PM's.
Superintendent
Con E/CM graduates that have an interest in spending a few years in the field are to desired to raise the bar and set the standard on planning and organization at the superintendent level. We stress scheduling and have many repeat customers due to our ability to deliver fast track projects on time. Project Managers are fortunate to be working on the numberous projects in progress, but at the same time, Superintendents will help the PM"s focus on new work.
We operate on a "partnership" philosophy; PM's are involved in formulating the strategies to grow the business. They are treated like partners in the company growth process as well as in profit sharing and company ownership. My goal is to work my way out of the construction business in 5 - 10 years to focus on developing projects that will provide additional investment income opportunities for the partners as well as provide work for the company. We're doing this now but only about 25% of my time is being devoted to development. With more time devoted to developments, I believe we can increase both construction volume and investment opportunity for ourselves.
We are currently a small to medium size company with a great group of hard working people committed to this philosophy. We're hiring for character and culture as much as for ability. We're "nice guys" and how the job gets done is as important as getting it done on time and within budget. We demand respectful treatment of all fellow employees and business associates.
I tell you all this because I believe we have something great to offer the right people. We performed $22M in volume last year after having completed $12M in 2005, we have a great culture, are well organized and will grow rapidly over the next decade. I'm taking an active personal role in looking for those few quality individuals who will fit in and contribute.
As for work coming up, we have a new car dealership project (approx. $4M) and 4 multi-family projects in the $4-6M range that start this summer and fall. We have a strong foothold in restaurant, medical-dental and office-warehouse type work, approximately 80% of our work being design-build/negotiated.
